Key Responsibilities

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems for generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
  • Perform independent complex power system studies, including load flow, stability, transient analysis, and connection studies.
  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support technical and project requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Support project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers and interns, providing technical guidance and reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in project meetings to resolve technical challenges.
  • Lead small to medium project teams and coordinate with external stakeholders to ensure project delivery.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and task automation within project execution.
  • Stay updated with industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Occasionally undertake temporary out-of-town assignments as required by project needs.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced certifications preferred.
  • 13–18 years of experience in power system engineering or related energy fields.
  • Proficiency in power system analysis software (PSS/E required; PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP preferred).
  • Experience in Python scripting for automation of power system studies.
  • Strong knowledge of power system principles, electrical equipment, and protection schemes.
  • Ability to lead medium/large-scale projects and manage teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication, leadership, and mentorship abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities including line management, resource planning, and skill development.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Awareness of project commercials and cost monitoring.
