Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical BIM Modeller at Mott MacDonald, you will:
- Build 3D models and 2D/3D drawings for electrical services, including lighting, power, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
- Develop substation models using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit, performing basic electrical design calculations.
- Conduct QA/QC procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and technical quality.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Structural, and Architectural teams to ensure model integration.
- Prepare layout drawings, schematics, and schedules for electrical building services.
- Work within project timelines to deliver high-quality BIM outputs.
- Utilize BIM platforms like BIM360 or ProjectWise for model management and collaboration.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Proven experience in Electrical BIM modelling for building services using MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Experience in substation, Oil & Gas, or Western Power projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of British, GCC, and international electrical standards.
- Strong ability to produce deliverables without extensive mark-ups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with BIM collaboration platforms (BIM360, ProjectWise) is advantageous.
- Attention to detail, quality, and technical correctness.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight project deadlines.
