Key Responsibilities
Design Management
- Lead and manage all design-related activities for underground metro construction projects, including metro stations, tunnels, shafts, and ancillary structures.
- Review, validate, and approve design deliverables from consultants and subcontractors.
- Ensure timely submission and client approval of design documentation in line with project schedules.
Technical Coordination
- Collaborate across civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and geotechnical teams to develop integrated, constructible design solutions.
- Resolve design conflicts and manage BIM model integration, including clash detection.
- Coordinate with BIM teams and ensure digital workflows enhance project outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise effectively with clients, government agencies, and third-party reviewers to secure design approvals.
- Organize and lead design workshops, technical meetings, and stakeholder consultations.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure design compliance with Indian and international standards such as IS, IRC, MoRTH, and NFPA.
- Monitor design quality rigorously and implement corrective measures when required.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive design logs, approval trackers, and change management records.
- Prepare and deliver detailed reports on design progress, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 12-18 years of experience in heavy civil infrastructure projects, with at least 8 years in underground metro design and construction.
Core Skills & Expertise
- Strong knowledge of metro tunnel design methodologies including NATM, TBM, and cut-and-cover techniques.
- Expertise in structural design of metro stations and underground civil works.
- Proficient in design and project management software: AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, Civil 3D.
- Experienced in BIM workflows and digital design coordination.
