Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer at ExxonMobil Bengaluru, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership across all stages of asset development and operations.
  • Drive electrical reliability improvement initiatives, tools, and reporting.
  • Mentor early-career professionals and share expertise across teams.
  • Lead technology commercialization and apply new solutions to business needs.
  • Perform power system studies (short circuit, load flow, arc flash, motor starting, grounding).
  • Support brownfield and revamp projects, including design documents, vendor reviews, and commissioning.
  • Conduct risk assessments, design reviews, and equipment strategies using global standards.
  • Develop electrical surveillance programs to monitor health, reliability, and failure prevention.
  • Maintain and update electrical power system models (ETAP/SKM) and site documentation.
  • Provide turnaround and shutdown support to global manufacturing facilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, chemical, or EPC domains.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes & standards (IEC, ANSI, API, ATEX, NFPA).
  • Proficiency in electrical system design, hazardous area compliance, grounding, protection, and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ETAP, SKM Power Tools, SAP, and analytics platforms.
  • Expertise in UPS systems, motor starting methods, bus transfer schemes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability engineering.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Ability to analyze maintenance and test records (transformer oil, thermography, insulation testing, etc.).
  • Proven experience in equipment strategy development (Credo, PESTRA, SAP).
  • Skilled in electrical life-cycle management (inventory, obsolescence, spare parts, upgrades).
  • Strong exposure to brownfield projects, revamp designs, and construction support.
  • Experience conducting load flow, harmonic, grounding, and arc-flash studies.
  • Collaboration across multicultural, international engineering environments.
