Responsibilities
As a Test Lead – API Automation at Hexaware, Chennai, your role will include:
- Designing and executing automation frameworks using Java Selenium
- Performing API testing with Postman and manual validation where required
- Preparing detailed test strategy, plans, and reports for Agile projects
- Collaborating with developers to resolve defects and ensure quality sign-offs
- Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production deployments
- Tracking test execution and defect lifecycle using Jira
- Coordinating with stakeholders to align test coverage with business requirements
- Supporting monthly releases (including occasional weekend support with comp-off)
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in Java Selenium Automation and API Testing
- Hands-on experience with Postman, Spring Boot, and Microservices
- Proficiency in Manual Testing for functional and regression coverage
- Knowledge of Agile methodology, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, Agile development environment
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in Test Automation / SDET / QA Lead roles
- Proven experience in end-to-end testing across microservices and APIs
- Must be based in Chennai and available for hybrid work model
- Flexibility to support late evening shifts and monthly release weekends
