Key Responsibilities
As a Test Automation Consultant at Deloitte, you will be involved in:
1. Test Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute test strategies for digital transformation projects.
- Create detailed manual and automation test cases from functional specifications and user stories.
- Design test plans for regression testing, smoke testing, and functional testing.
2. Automation Testing
- Write and maintain automated test scripts using frameworks like Selenium and Cypress.
- Automate test cases for both UI and API testing.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for faster deployments.
3. Performance Testing
- Conduct performance testing using tools like JMeter and K6 to assess system scalability and load capacity.
- Identify bottlenecks and work with developers to optimize application performance.
4. Defect Management
- Track and report software defects using JIRA, ensuring timely resolutions with the development team.
- Reproduce, isolate, and troubleshoot issues raised during test cycles.
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication
- Engage with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure testing aligns with project goals.
- Provide feedback and suggest improvements to software development processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in manual testing, regression testing, smoke testing, and test automation.
- Proficiency with test automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, and Rest Assured.
- Hands-on experience with performance testing tools like JMeter and K6.
- Experience with API testing using Postman.
- Java and Kotlin programming knowledge is essential.
- Familiarity with JIRA for defect management and Agile development methodology.
Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in Test Automation, with at least one large-scale banking transformation project.
- Prior experience working with large BFSI clients, particularly in the Indian market, is preferred.
- Knowledge of quality assurance techniques and the software development lifecycle.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in agile teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify potential issues and propose solutions.
