About EY Risk Consulting – Market Risk Practice

EY’s GDS Risk Consulting team provides integrated, industry-focused risk solutions to leading financial institutions worldwide. The MENA Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) group specializes in identifying, assessing, and managing market, credit, operational, and regulatory risks.

Within FSRM, the Market Risk (MR) team focuses on capital market models, derivatives pricing, value-at-risk (VaR/ES), counterparty credit risk, and advanced frameworks like FRTB and xVAs.

As a Senior Manager, you will lead diverse teams and oversee the delivery of complex market risk engagements, supporting clients with innovative, data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 10–15 professionals (Managers, Consultants, and Analysts).
• Drive large-scale Market Risk Consulting and Financial Services projects aligned with client and EY objectives.
• Advise clients on derivative pricing, capital market instruments, and risk analytics methodologies.
• Strengthen senior client relationships and deliver customized risk management frameworks.
• Develop thought leadership by publishing industry insights and participating in forums.
• Oversee project governance, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
• Innovate internal tools, models, and methodologies to enhance the Risk Consulting practice.
• Manage multiple model development and validation engagements simultaneously.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in risk management, valuation control, or quantitative analytics.
• Proven expertise in market risk modeling, hedge effectiveness testing, and financial derivatives.
• Strong technical proficiency in Python, VBA, or MATLAB.
• Familiarity with vendor tools such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or Numerix.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Strong project management and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as FRM, CFA, PRM, or CQF.
• Experience with risk systems (Calypso, Murex, SunGard, RiskMetrics, EQF, Spectrum).
• Hands-on experience in quantitative and qualitative risk assessment, including stress testing and scenario analysis.
• Experience mentoring and coaching junior consultants.
• Willingness to travel for client projects.
