Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain drilling rig floor equipment, including tongs, drilling slips, hoists, and pipe handling tools.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as assembling/disassembling drill pipes and collars efficiently and safely.
- Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, greasing, painting, and cleaning of rig equipment and work areas.
- Participate in pre-task and safety meetings, following all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Identify and report workplace hazards, equipment malfunctions, and operational abnormalities promptly to the Driller.
- Exercise Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed to protect personnel, assets, and the environment.
- Assist in training and mentoring newly assigned Floorhands to ensure skill development and safety compliance.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards on the rig floor, accommodations, and offices.
- Work under the close supervision and direction of the Driller and Rig Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Basic understanding of drilling rig operations and safety standards.
- Ability to perform physically demanding manual labor in a rig environment.
- Strong commitment to safety with an ability to identify and report hazards.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with rig team members.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts as per operational requirements.
- Ability to learn and apply technical instructions and safety procedures effectively.
