Key Responsibilities
Daily QA Activities
- Monitor batch status across pug mills, mixers, reactors, and TSDs; coordinate with preceding shifts.
- Maintain approved and pending batch lists; communicate special instructions.
- Ensure implementation of 5S practices on the shopfloor and QA lab.
- Update ledgers and logbooks with batch parameters and test results.
- Conduct instrument calibration for color computers, viscometers, gyroshakers, and other QA tools.
- Inspect finished products and intermediates against specifications and test methods.
- Analyze batch cards to identify deviations and ensure proper data for future analysis.
- Coordinate with production for deviations and prevent recurrence.
- Conduct daily rounds to ensure adherence to procedures and standards.
Weekly / Monthly / Ad Hoc Activities
- Verify availability of specifications, test methods, master samples, and standard shade panels; liaise with Planning as needed.
- Analyze and address customer complaints within 24–48 hours based on complaint type.
- Conduct process, packing, and batching audits regularly.
- Ensure master samples and standard shade panels are updated before expiry.
- Test first three batches of new designs and communicate results to Technical Function.
- Support monthly report preparation and stability/exposure studies.
- Refer critical issues to Technical Function, including problems in batches, specifications, test methods, and new products.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance procedures in chemical/paint production.
- Hands-on experience with QA instruments like color computers, penetrometers, viscometers, and gyroshakers.
- Ability to analyze deviations and provide actionable solutions.
- Excellent documentation, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, batch audits, and QA compliance.
Qualifications
- B.Sc in Chemistry (Preferred) or M.Sc in Chemistry (Desirable).
- 1–3 years of experience in QA, quality control, or production inspection roles.
- Knowledge of supply chain and production processes is a plus.
