Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance database architectures.
- Drive query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance optimization (T-SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures).
- Define and enforce database security, encryption, and compliance standards (PCI DSS, SOX).
- Implement disaster recovery plans, automated backups, and database testing frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure seamless data integration.
- Manage database version control using GIT, Azure DevOps, and related tools.
- Monitor database health and proactively resolve connectivity and performance issues.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS.
- Proven track record in database optimization and query tuning.
- Experience with database monitoring tools and automation frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, database version control (GIT, Azure DevOps).
- Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication in English, both written and verbal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Database Management, Information Systems, or related field.
- 20+ years of hands-on experience in database architecture and performance management.
- Exposure to cloud database platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is highly desirable.
