Key Responsibilities
As a Cloud Architect – OpenSearch Support, your core duties will include:
- Configure, maintain, and manage 51 AWS OpenSearch instances to support real-time search, log analytics, and observability use cases.
- Implement index management, shared optimization, and advanced performance tuning to ensure high availability and fast query response.
- Integrate OpenSearch clusters with data ingestion tools using fine-grained access controls and AWS IAM roles for secure data handling.
- Monitor cluster health and performance metrics via OpenSearch Dashboards, AWS CloudWatch, and custom alerting systems for proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Collaborate with DevOps, CloudOps, and application teams to troubleshoot incidents and improve system reliability.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices in OpenSearch cluster security, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Document OpenSearch configurations, optimizations, and monitoring protocols for internal knowledge sharing and audits.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in managing and supporting AWS OpenSearch clusters at scale.
- Strong knowledge of OpenSearch index management, shard optimization, and query performance tuning.
- Proficiency with AWS IAM roles, security best practices, and access control mechanisms within cloud environments.
- Hands-on expertise using OpenSearch Dashboards and AWS CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex search platform issues quickly and efficiently.
- Experience collaborating in hybrid cloud teams with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools and automation (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8 to 10 years of professional experience with AWS cloud services, especially OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, mission-critical OpenSearch environments.
