We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Driller with 6+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably with prior rig experience as an Assistant Driller or Derrickman. The Assistant Driller will support the Driller in operating and maintaining drilling equipment, monitoring wellbore conditions, and ensuring safe and efficient drilling operations. About the Role
As an Assistant Driller, you will work closely with the Driller to operate and maintain drilling systems such as draw works, mud pumps, and rotating equipment. You will help monitor wellbore conditions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with rig procedures and HSE standards. This role is essential in supporting safe and efficient drilling operations and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Drilling Operations
- Assist in operating and maintaining drilling equipment.
- Monitor and report wellbore conditions to ensure adherence to drilling program objectives.
Record Keeping & Reporting
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of drilling activities and equipment performance.
Safety & Environment
- Follow all HSE guidelines and participate in safety briefings.
- Ensure safe operation of drilling equipment and work practices.
Maintenance & Equipment Management
- Assist in routine maintenance of mud systems, draw works, and other drilling equipment.
- Ensure proper care and handling of tools and machinery.
Additional Duties
- Support the Driller and Rig Superintendent with ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Collaborate with the rig crew to maintain operational efficiency and teamwork.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High School Diploma or Technical Degree in Drilling Technology.
- Experience: Minimum 6 years in oil & gas drilling, with prior rig experience as Assistant Driller / Derrickman.
- Skills:
- Basic understanding of drilling operations and equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks safely.
- Teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Well Control practices.
