As a Lead Mechanical Engineer in Emerging Technologies, you will:
- Apply scientific and engineering methods to validate innovative aerospace concepts.
- Evaluate and refine mechanical designs using FEA tools, hand calculations, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Support the development of advanced manufacturing workflows and mechanical systems such as seals, sumps, bearings, and lubrication systems.
- Ensure high levels of productivity, reliability, and design performance for new aerospace technologies.
- Collaborate across global engineering teams and contribute to GE Aerospaceβs strategic initiatives in innovation and sustainability.

- Design and analyze mechanical components and systems for advanced jet engines and gas turbines.
- Validate new technologies through simulation, test, or analytical evaluation.
- Translate technical insights into actionable product enhancements.
- Drive cross-functional alignment on key projects and technologies.
- Guide junior team members and support engineering process improvements.
π― Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Strong fundamentals in:
- Mechanical/structural design
- Static and rotating component systems
- Stress, fatigue, and thermal analysis
- Proficiency in CAD tools, hand calculations, and optimization techniques.
- Ability to evaluate and improve design based on multi-disciplinary criteria.

- Familiarity with gas turbine or aircraft engine systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems like lubrication, sealing, and pressure management.
- Hands-on experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proven track record of solving cross-functional engineering challenges.
