βοΈ Role Overview: What Youβll Do
As a Lead Engineer β Combustion Design, you will:
- Lead aerodynamic combustion design for aviation and aero-derivative gas turbines
- Execute 2D/3D CFD modeling using RANS/LES for fuel-air mixing, emissions, and combustion dynamics
- Drive technical solutions for product development and fielded product improvement
- Design combustor systems meeting emissions, operability, and durability standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide leadership in global program execution
- Develop and optimize combustion design methodologies for future programs
- Support test planning, rig/engine validation, and engineering reviews
- Guide and mentor junior engineers within the team
π οΈ Required Skills & Qualifications
- Masterβs Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in combustion systems, or
PhD in Combustion Sciences with 1+ year industry/postdoc experience - Proficient in combustion CFD, aero-thermal modeling, and numerical methods
- Hands-on experience with Fluent, StarCCM+, LES, RANS, and programming tools like C/C++
- Knowledge of gas turbine fundamentals, thermal-fluid sciences, and design validation
- Ability to lead design projects, communicate clearly, and make data-driven decisions

- Deep understanding of combustion physics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer
- Experience with Unigraphics, SpaceClaim, and reactor network models
