🛠️ Responsibilities

As a Lead Life Management Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Own the life certification of engine-critical components for various GE commercial engines.
  • Conduct deep analysis in fatigue, fracture mechanics, and thermal stress.
  • Perform mechanical component evaluations using FEA/CAE tools.
  • Create and manage serviceable limits, repairs, and field issue resolutions.
  • Interface with global regulatory agencies like FAA and EASA to deliver technical reports and life certifications.
  • Collaborate with teams across Life Cycle Engineering, Systems, and Services.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to the Life Management Digital Playbook.
  • Act as a technical leader in cross-functional teams, facilitating hand-offs and coordinating across geographies.
  • Support repair development and field operations by translating failure insights into design/process improvements.

🧠 Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Educational Background: PhD / MTech / MS / BE in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience: 4+ years in turbomachinery, jet engine design, analysis, or life management.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Solid mechanics
    • Fatigue (LCF/HCF) and fracture mechanics
    • Thermal and structural analysis
    • Rotor hardware design and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in FEA/CAE software for component life analysis.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with aviation field failures, failure modes, and corrective design strategies.
  • Familiarity with FAA/EASA certification standards for life-limited parts.
