Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) to lead offshore rig operations as the Man in Charge (MIC). This role is responsible for ensuring safety, efficiency, and profitability of drilling operations while managing all rig resources, personnel, and equipment. The OIM enforces company policies, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices to maintain operational excellence and asset integrity.

Role Overview

The OIM will oversee all aspects of offshore rig operations, including drilling, maintenance, HSE compliance, asset protection, and personnel management. You will act as the primary decision-maker on the rig, ensuring smooth execution of operations, optimized performance, and adherence to strict safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Maintain compliance with HSE policies, regulations, and company standards.
  • Promote a safety-first culture across all rig personnel and contractors.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure emergency response preparedness.

Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee drilling operations, equipment performance, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of rig equipment, including top drive and AC drive systems.
  • Optimize operational processes to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.

Financial Management

  • Monitor operational budgets and cost control measures.
  • Ensure resource allocation aligns with project goals and profitability targets.

Personnel Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage rig personnel and subcontractors.
  • Conduct performance reviews and training programs to ensure competency and compliance.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: High School + Technical Degree in Drilling Technology.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 years in offshore oil and gas operations.
  • Certifications:
    • IWCF or IADC Well Control Certificate – Supervisor Level
    • Valid OIM License
  • Skills & Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge of offshore rig operations, top drive, and AC drive Jack-Up rigs.
    • Proven leadership and decision-making abilities in high-pressure environments.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and team management skills.
    • Deep understanding of HSE regulations and operational best practices.
