Responsibilities
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Caterpillar, you will:
- Design and develop electrical wiring harnesses for gensets, engines, and CAT machinery.
- Contribute to system-level architecture and subsystem development.
- Lead new component development and electrical integration projects.
- Perform electrical analysis, propose innovative solutions, and evaluate new products and systems.
- Communicate design results and solutions with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Maintain and resolve electrical design issues across product lifecycles.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers while collaborating with global engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in automotive or heavy engineering electrical design.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Self-starter with technical leadership skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Proficiency in Pro/E Creo and related design tools.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Product Testing, and Effective Communication principles.
- Background in developing complex electrical systems and integrating them into large-scale machinery.
