Responsibilities
As a Component Engineer – Electrical Design at Siemens Energy Pune, your key responsibilities include:
- Performing detailed electrical calculations for power transformers.
- Designing active parts of transformers (parameters, dimensions) to meet customer specs (losses, impedances, noise levels, SC forces, temperature limits).
- Preparing design documents, technical reports, and customer justifications.
- Collaborating with sales, mechanical design, manufacturing, quality, testing, and service teams.
- Supporting tender processes with bill of materials, costing, and technical documentation.
- Preparing specifications for components such as tap changers, bushings, CTs, conductors, insulation parts, and accessories.
- Engaging with customers during technical discussions at offer and order execution stages.
- Working with Siemens’ global transformer factories to enhance product design.
- Contributing to R&D efforts and global design rules.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 2–8 years of transformer design experience.
- Proficiency in transformer calculation tools and 2D CAD software (AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of transformer standards (IEC, IS, IEEE, ANSI).
- Knowledge of materials and transformer components (cores, windings, insulation, accessories).
- Familiarity with 2D/3D electromagnetic or electrostatic simulations (preferred).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
