Summary
Wipro is seeking an experienced Windows and Patching Specialist to join our technology operations team in Kochi (Kerala) or Pune (Maharashtra). This role is ideal for IT professionals with 5–8 years of experience in Windows Server Administration, patch management, system upgrades, and automation. As a Windows Server Administrator and Patching Lead, you will play a critical role in architecture planning, platform management, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while supporting Wipro’s global digital transformation initiatives.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to lead infrastructure operations, optimize performance, and contribute to Wipro’s large-scale enterprise IT environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Planning
- Support infrastructure design, migration, and installation for new projects.
- Lead architectural planning for platforms, middleware, and backup systems.
- Perform technology capacity planning to meet current and future needs.
- Operations & Maintenance
- Manage day-to-day operations, troubleshoot Windows Server issues, and perform root cause analysis.
- Handle upgrades, migrations, patching, maintenance, and configuration activities.
- Ensure disaster recovery, backup, and recovery plans are implemented and tested.
- Drive efficiency through automation and service improvement plans (SIPs).
- Performance & Reporting
- Monitor and optimize technical performance of servers and platforms.
- Maintain and update SOPs, operations manuals, and architecture documents.
- Provide weekly reports to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Team & Leadership
- Forecast and hire required talent for the tower.
- Mentor and train junior team members in Windows Server Administration and patch management.
- Conduct performance reviews, drive employee engagement initiatives, and promote diversity.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in Windows Server Administration (Windows 2012, 2016, 2019).
- Hands-on experience in patch management, system upgrades, and configuration.
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with middleware, databases, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and performance tuning skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5–8 years in Windows Server Administration and patch management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred).
- Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- ITIL Foundation Certification
