Responsibilities
Research & Technology Development
- Conduct research on multiphase flow challenges across well lifecycle stages (drilling, completions, production).
- Identify opportunities for improvement in design methodologies and technologies.
- Apply automation, scripting, optimization, and proxy modeling to solve complex flow problems.
Analysis & Modeling
- Perform fit-for-purpose flow analysis using appropriate software tools (Ansys Fluent, Olga).
- Develop computational models and basic GUI deployments for internal solutions.
- Integrate findings with adjacent disciplines (reservoir, geoscience, operations) to enhance well performance and mitigate risks.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide research insights and improve operational procedures.
- Offer technical leadership and mentorship in areas of expertise.
- Plan research projects, define milestones, and communicate insights to stakeholders effectively.
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s with thesis or PhD in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (minimum GPA 7.0).
- 3+ years of research or industry experience in multiphase flow modeling and simulation in upstream wells or related technology.
- Familiarity with petroleum engineering concepts, well drilling, completion designs, and production analysis.
- Experience with Engineering Applications such as Ansys Fluent, Olga, or equivalent CFD and multiphase flow tools.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in programming languages like MATLAB or Python.
- Knowledge of computational and data science techniques, including optimization and machine learning.
- Proven experience in research planning, technology development, and leading projects.
- Strong analytical, teamwork, and communication skills.
