Key Responsibilities
As a Tax Specialist at Halliburton Mumbai, you will be responsible for a range of critical tax functions, including:
US Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and review US federal and state income tax returns
- Support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations (ASC 740)
- Assist with IRS and state audits, preparing required documentation
Withholding Tax (WHT)
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with WHT regulations
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for reporting and remittances
Tax Accounting
- Perform monthly/quarterly tax account reconciliations
- Assist in deferred tax computations, FIN48 reserves, and tax-related financial adjustments
Tax Advisory & Planning
- Provide support on transaction structuring, intercompany pricing, and advisory projects
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to offer tax guidance on business operations
Litigation & Audit Support
- Compile documentation for tax litigation and appeals
- Coordinate with legal and external advisors on open audits or regulatory matters
Technology & Automation
- Use tools such as SAP, OneSource, and Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Support process improvement and automation initiatives across tax functions
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience
- 6–8 years of experience in direct taxation
- Preferably from Big 4 firms, MNC shared service centers, or global corporate finance teams
- Hands-on experience in US tax compliance and accounting
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of US tax laws, GAAP/IFRS, and ASC 740
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and tax tools like OneSource
- Bonus: Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, or similar automation tools
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced global environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
