Key Responsibilities
- Develop, specify, and apply subsea hardware design criteria for large-scale offshore and deepwater projects.
- Provide technical recommendations and strategic advice on subsea hardware design philosophies and contracts.
- Support subsea projects throughout all phases: concept evaluation, engineering, commissioning, and start-up.
- Interface with contractors and subcontractors ensuring compliance with ExxonMobil standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Engineering FAT (EFAT), Site Integration Testing (SIT), and pre-loadout procedures for subsea hardware.
- Participate in risk assessments, root cause analyses, and technology evaluations related to subsea hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including marine, pipelines, flow assurance, and subsea controls.
- Support subsea operations through troubleshooting, surveillance, and integrity management activities.
- Oversee third-party engineering contractors to maintain quality and technical standards.
- Promote ExxonMobil’s safety culture and operational excellence globally.
Skills and Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Subsea, Offshore, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 3 to 13 years of experience in subsea engineering design or operations, with expertise in at least one of the following: subsea systems, subsea operations, hardware, controls, or processing.
- Solid working knowledge of subsea production system hardware (Wellhead, Tree, Manifold, Jumpers, Connectors).
- Familiarity with offshore installation activities and subsea engineering codes/standards including API 17D/6A/17H and ASME 31.3/31.8.
- Ability to diagnose failure modes, equipment selection trade-offs, and subsea system architecture.
- Understanding of subsea control systems (SCM, SDU, UTA, Flying leads) and topside systems (MCS, EPU, HPU).
- Strong English communication skills and experience working with global, diverse teams.
- Willingness to travel internationally (<10%) and work flexible shifts (1:30 PM – 10:30 PM IST).
