Summary
Petrofac is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to support Well Engineering operations at our Abu Dhabi office. The ideal candidate will transform raw operational, drilling, and production data into actionable insights that enhance efficiency, safety, and optimization in upstream oil and gas operations. This role requires expertise in data visualization, ETL pipelines, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling, while collaborating closely with engineers, geoscientists, and field teams to ensure data accuracy and relevance.

Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Insights
- Analyze well integrity, drilling, and production data to support engineering and operational decisions.
- Conduct statistical analysis and predictive modeling to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
- Integrate live field data from sensors and operational systems into analytical pipelines.
Data Visualization & Reporting
- Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Spotfire for operational teams and leadership.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Maintain data quality, governance, and documentation across all platforms.
ETL & Data Management
- Build and maintain Python/SQL pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Perform data mining and ensure alignment of upstream data sources with engineering requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data relevance, accuracy, and completeness.
Collaboration & Technical Support
- Work closely with engineers, geoscientists, and field teams to interpret data and improve operational performance.
- Support the integration of well integrity management systems (WIMS) and production modeling tools (PROSPER, MBAL, OFM).
- Apply advanced analytical methods, geospatial analysis, and AI-driven forecasting to improve operational efficiency.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in Spotfire, Python, SQL, and advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, VBA).
- Knowledge of well integrity, drilling, and production data systems.
- Experience with data mining, predictive analytics, and dashboard development.
- Familiarity with production/reservoir modeling, geospatial analysis, and AI/ML forecasting.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Understanding of energy regulations, sustainability practices, and upstream data workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in data analytics within the oil & gas or energy sector.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Petroleum Data Analyst (CPDA) or COGA preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Well Integrity Management Systems (WIMS) and production modeling tools.
