Key Responsibilities
As a Sr. Systems Engineer – Application Development at QatarEnergy Trading, you will:
- Design and build software solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing IT architecture.
- Collaborate with traders, risk managers, finance teams, architects, and business analysts to develop scalable tools and applications.
- Implement automation and process optimization to enable trading business growth.
- Build and maintain interfaces with third-party and in-house platforms.
- Establish and manage a DevOps framework to support long-term scalability.
- Lead and oversee external IT consultants, developers, and vendors.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, conduct POCs, and introduce innovative solutions.
- Apply security best practices to protect trading systems against vulnerabilities.
- Provide timely technical support to in-house solutions to ensure business continuity.
Required Skills & Expertise
- 8+ years’ experience in designing and implementing enterprise software solutions.
- Strong hands-on expertise with C#, Angular, .NET, RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Minimum 3 years of Azure cloud experience (Azure AD, Functions, Service Bus, Storage, SQL, Cosmos DB).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Bicep, Terraform).
- Strong experience with SQL and database design.
- Understanding of microservices architecture; microfrontend exposure is a plus.
- Knowledge of STP requirements and FIX protocol (preferred).
- Experience with CTRM/ETRM systems (preferred).
- Python proficiency (plus).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
