Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer at Ford Credit Services, you will:
- Develop and maintain enterprise-grade software solutions using Java, Spring Boot microservices, and GraphQL APIs.
- Lead technical design, code reviews, and implement best practices to ensure high-quality code.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative, proactive team culture.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Cloud Build, Tekton).
- Leverage Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager, and Schedulers.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Drive agile processes including sprint planning, test-driven development (TDD), and behavior-driven development (BDD).
- Participate in strategic technical roadmap planning and change management.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align technology with business goals.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Expert-level proficiency in Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot microservices.
- Strong experience with GraphQL API development and database technologies like Postgres and Redis.
- Hands-on knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically Cloud Build, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager.
- Familiarity with code quality tools: SonarQube, Fossa, Checkmarx, Cycode, 42Crunch.
- Solid experience in version control (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Working knowledge of API automation tools like Newman and JMeter.
- Excellent team leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Agile and Scrum methodology experience, including participation in Agile ceremonies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in software development with Java/J2EE.
- Proven experience working in cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Demonstrated expertise in software craftsmanship, TDD, and BDD practices.
- Prior experience in a senior engineering role with leadership responsibilities.
