Key Responsibilities
Strategic Advisory & Analysis
- Lead complex projects supporting Shell’s upstream oil and gas strategy, including short- and long-term analysis.
- Conduct financial modeling and build business cases for portfolio investments.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative market research to identify business opportunities.
- Develop strategy reviews for specific geographies and analyze competitive landscapes.
Project Management & Delivery
- Independently deliver medium to large projects or manage work streams within larger initiatives.
- Define project scope, plan and execute analysis, manage stakeholders, and communicate actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect data, validate findings, and ensure aligned outcomes.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients and stakeholders at various levels.
- Act as a trusted advisor by delivering clear “so what” insights from complex data.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and contribute to continuous improvement within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or related discipline. MBA is a plus.
- 8+ years’ experience in oil & gas industry, preferably in upstream, LNG, or exploration.
- Proven track record in strategy consulting, financial analysis, market research, or commercial roles.
- Strong expertise in analyzing complex datasets and crafting compelling business insights.
- Proficient in economic modeling and interpreting financial statements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Mastery of upstream industry trends, regulatory environment, and geopolitics.
- Skilled at managing project scopes, timelines, and stakeholder communications.
- Ability to work across multiple geographies and time zones in a multicultural environment.
- Familiarity with tools like Wood Mackenzie, Rystad, and visualization software such as Spotfire or Tableau is advantageous.
