Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer – Firebolt, you will:
- Design, develop, and implement scalable and robust applications within Tesla’s AI-powered communications platform.
- Leverage technologies such as Golang, Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, and OpenSearch to build highly available distributed systems.
- Integrate with Large Language Models (LLMs) for intelligent response generation and conversational AI features.
- Collaborate with product managers, QA, content producers, and release engineers to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of software.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, create documentation, and build internal tools to promote engineering best practices.
- Develop and maintain unit tests and integration tests to guarantee production-ready, high-quality code.
- Drive continuous software process improvements to increase team efficiency and product quality.
- Explore and adopt new open-source technologies as Tesla’s platform evolves.
- (Nice to have) Experience with Java, Apache Flink, ClickHouse is a plus.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- Proven expertise in developing scalable, production-grade Golang applications.
- Strong experience working with both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of software architecture design aligned with business goals and technical priorities.
- Hands-on experience with message queue architectures (Apache Kafka or similar).
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Well-versed in Agile/SCRUM methodologies and collaborative software development practices.
- Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and test automation frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building scalable, reliable software.
