Key Responsibilities
- Drive technical direction and architectural design for large-scale distributed systems supporting Amazon Payment Services in GCC and Levant markets.
- Collaborate with product managers to define strategic roadmaps and deliver robust software capabilities aligned with customer needs.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams, instilling best practices in coding, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Manage full software development lifecycle including design, implementation, deployment, and live site operations.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance of mission-critical payment processing systems.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to prioritize projects, manage stakeholder expectations, and track commitments.
- Champion operational excellence through monitoring, incident response, and continuous system improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong programming skills in at least one major language.
- Proven 5+ years experience leading software design and architecture of distributed, scalable systems.
- Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams and driving technical excellence.
- Solid understanding of full software development lifecycle including source control, build processes, testing, and production operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building high availability cloud-native applications with a focus on fault tolerance and scalability.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Familiarity with payment processing technologies and secure transaction systems is a plus.
