Key Responsibilities
- Manage the pre-contract tender process, including tender assessment, queries, and contract award recommendations.
- Develop robust cost estimates aligned to project scope and risk allowances.
- Oversee commercial inputs during procurement, ensuring strategy development and approval.
- Administer contracts in compliance with NEC3/NEC4 ECC, including communications, payments, compensation events, and programme submissions.
- Proactively manage budget and cost control, providing solutions with a “can-do” attitude.
- Ensure accurate commercial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate project and programme risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across project teams.
- Support internal business development initiatives to grow Mott MacDonald’s presence.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- BE/B.Tech or Master’s in Civil Engineering or relevant Quantity Surveying qualification.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in quantity surveying and project commercial management.
- Practical knowledge and experience of NEC3 or NEC4 ECC contracts, Options A, C, or E.
- Experience in pre- and post-contract management, including cost control, forecasting, and compensation events.
- Proficient with contract management software such as CEMAR.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to client offices, including overnight stays.
Desirable
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS or equivalent).
- Experience in CostX, PowerBI, or SharePoint.
- Background in residential, mixed-use, or transportation projects.
- Ability to present data analysis in clear, actionable formats.
- Proven record of delivering successful projects within cost consultancy frameworks.
