Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize QatarEnergy’s corporate insurance programs for operational and construction risks.
  • Provide expert risk management advice on contracts, capital projects, acquisitions, and divestments across the organization.
  • Manage insurance claims proactively to ensure favorable settlements that protect QatarEnergy’s financial interests.
  • Collaborate with international insurers and brokers to place energy insurance policies that comply with global standards.
  • Lead risk engineering initiatives including Estimated Maximum Loss (EML) assessments and survey programs for energy assets.
  • Monitor evolving insurance market trends and emerging risks to adapt strategies effectively.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure insurance coverage aligns with business objectives and risk appetite.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in the energy sector insurance, particularly in operational and construction insurance programs.
  • Proven track record in placing complex insurance policies in international energy insurance markets.
  • Experience working with multi-country insurance programs and cross-border risk management.
  • Knowledge of risk engineering principles, including conducting EML assessments and managing risk surveys.
  • Strong analytical, evaluation, and project management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to work effectively across diverse cultural teams.
  • Adaptable mindset to navigate changing business and insurance landscapes.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, Law, or related field.
  • Professional insurance qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) at Diploma level or equivalent.
