This full-time position is ideal for engineers with 4–7 years of design and testing experience in Power Distribution Units (PDUs), switchgear, and electrical assemblies.
As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting power distribution systems, working with both internal stakeholders and customers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer – PDU Division at Flex Chennai, you will:
- Design and create GA (General Arrangement) drawings based on customer specifications.
- Develop electrical schematics and Bill of Materials (BOM) for power distribution systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to finalize electrical designs.
- Work on Autodesk Inventor to create or modify 2D and 3D assembly/part models.
- Design mechanical assemblies and components for PDU procurement.
- Use Autodesk Vault for BOM management, drawings, and change execution.
- Define and document SOPs/Work Instructions for PDU assembly and testing processes.
- Perform and validate electrical testing of PDUs, including Hi-Pot and functional tests.
- Establish testing methods and SOPs for PDU product validation.
- Review 3D assembly models and prepare exploded component views.
- Coordinate with sites and customers for process transitions.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and standards in PDU assembly and testing.
Skills & Qualifications
- B.E. degree in EEE, ECE, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 4–7 years of experience as a Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment (preferably PDU assembly).
- Strong knowledge of:
- Electrical schematics and BOM creation for power distribution systems.
- Mechanical assembly and 3D modeling for PDU products.
- Electrical panel assembly, wiring, and circuits.
- PDU electrical and functional testing methods.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (mandatory).
- Strong team collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
