Key Responsibilities
Support & Maintenance
- Manage and troubleshoot OpenShift clusters in production and non-production.
- Monitor and ensure cluster performance, scalability, and uptime.
- Resolve L2 escalations from L1 support teams.
Incident & Problem Management
- Handle tickets related to OpenShift platform issues and service requests.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
- Collaborate with L3 engineering teams for complex cases.
Configuration Management
- Implement configuration changes including node scaling, network policies, and deployments.
- Apply patches and upgrades to OpenShift components.
Monitoring & Alerting
- Use tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stack for monitoring.
- Respond to cluster health alerts and proactively resolve performance issues.
Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain knowledge articles, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work closely with DevOps, infra, and application teams to enhance reliability.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift v4.x.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes concepts, architecture, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Docker and containerized environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitOps).
- Linux/Unix system administration and shell scripting.
- Understanding of networking concepts: DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK).
- Basic exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Preferred Skills
- Red Hat OpenShift certifications (EX280, EX288, CKA).
- Knowledge of storage integration and CSI.
- Familiarity with Service Mesh (Istio) and microservices security.
- Experience in automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset.
