Key Responsibilities
- Analyze ETL mappings, business rules, and data flow diagrams to design comprehensive test strategies.
- Develop and execute detailed test cases and complex SQL queries to validate data transformations and data integrity.
- Perform source-to-target validation ensuring data accuracy during migration from legacy systems to cloud or data warehouses.
- Collaborate closely with ETL developers, business analysts, and data architects for seamless project execution.
- Conduct various testing phases including smoke, system, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Utilize data profiling and quality tools to identify and report data anomalies.
- Track and manage defects using tools like JIRA, ALM, Azure DevOps.
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies to meet sprint goals and contribute to QA metrics.
Skills & Expertise
- Minimum 7 years in QA with strong focus on ETL Testing and data migration.
- Expertise in SQL with the ability to write complex queries (joins, aggregations, subqueries).
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools: Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or equivalent.
- Proven track record validating large-scale migrations—both cloud and on-premise.
- Familiarity with data warehouse architectures, including Star and Snowflake schemas.
- Strong working knowledge of Agile processes and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
- Experience with data profiling and data quality tools like Informatica DQ or Talend DQ (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of cloud data platforms: Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell for automation.
- Exposure to BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik for validating data reporting layers.
- Knowledge of data security practices, including PII masking and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in ETL or Data Engineering preferred but not mandatory.
