Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain cloud-hosted web applications, virtual machines, databases, and storage systems.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and system monitoring.
- Monitor system performance with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, NewRelic, DataDog, and Splunk.
- Troubleshoot complex system and application issues to ensure uptime, performance, and security.
- Administer Linux, Solaris, or BSD production environments, including patching, user account management, and application deployment.
- Enforce security compliance policies and maintain operational documentation.
- Analyze system performance trends and support capacity planning initiatives.
- Participate in 24×7 on-call rotations and incident management processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to roll out new products and services.
Mandatory Skills & Expertise
- 5–8 years of experience in production Linux, Solaris, or BSD environments at medium to large scale.
- Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure cloud platforms for deployment and migration.
- Proficient in containerization: Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS.
- Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Groovy DSL.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools: Chef, Puppet, Ansible, CFengine.
- Basic understanding of Terraform and CloudFormation templates.
- Knowledge of key protocols: TCP/IP, SSH, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, HTTP, LDAP.
- Strong communication skills; self-driven and proactive.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with caching architectures.
- Familiarity with security compliance frameworks: SOC II, PCI, HIPAA, ISO27001, FedRAMP.
- Programming skills: Python, Java, Go.
- Experience with MySQL, Java, Apache, Tomcat.
- Ability to solve complex system/application problems and optimize uptime using SLx metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) or Master’s in Engineering (M.Tech/MCA).
- 3–7 years of practical DevOps, SRE, and cloud infrastructure experience.
