Key Responsibilities
- Detect, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity incidents swiftly within SLA guidelines
- Analyze security event logs from various sources including firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, EDR, and more
- Lead first responder activities: containment, mitigation, and remediation of security breaches
- Collaborate closely with SOC teams, clients, and stakeholders to communicate incident status and risks
- Develop, review, and enhance incident response playbooks and procedures using SOAR technologies (Cortex, Phantom, Demisto)
- Perform forensic investigations across Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and cloud environments
- Conduct root cause analysis of malware infections and suspicious activities
- Prepare detailed incident reports and executive-level communications for leadership
- Participate in tabletop incident response simulations and deliver training sessions
- Monitor log source health, escalate issues, and support continuous improvement of security operations
- Stay current on threat landscape trends and cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and the Cyber Kill Chain
Required Skills & Expertise
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity incident response and SIEM monitoring (QRadar, Sentinel)
- Proficient in digital forensics and evidence handling across diverse platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac)
- Expertise with SOAR tools like Cortex XSOAR, Phantom, or Demisto for incident automation
- Strong knowledge of ITSM tools for incident tracking and management
- Hands-on experience with endpoint detection & response (EDR) tools including Crowdstrike, MS Defender, SentinelOne
- Familiarity with security logs analysis, network intrusion detection, and malware analysis
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to perform data correlation and threat hunting
- Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement, incident reporting, and knowledge sharing
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced 24/7 SOC environment with rotational shifts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related fields (B.E/B.Tech preferred)
- Relevant industry certifications are advantageous (e.g., CISSP, CISA, GCFA, GCIH)
- Prior experience working in complex security environments and diverse client sectors
