Summary

WTW is hiring a Retirement Valuation SME (North America focus) in Gurugram, Haryana, India. This is an excellent opportunity for actuarial professionals with 3+ years of pension valuation experience to join a global leader in risk management, consulting, and insurance solutions. As a Retirement Valuation Specialist at WTW, you will review, analyze, and deliver actuarial valuations for large corporate defined benefit plans, while mentoring junior associates and collaborating with US client teams. This role requires strong actuarial knowledge, proficiency in pension valuations, and the ability to drive quality, accuracy, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

As a Retirement Valuation SME at WTW, you will:

  • Perform detailed technical reviews of actuarial work products including:
    • Annual funding and expense valuations (qualified, non-qualified, and post-retirement welfare plans)
    • Client data and asset reconciliations
    • Government forms and compliance statements
  • Act as a subject matter expert, resolving/escalating queries from consultants on plan provisions and valuation results.
  • Partner with Team Leaders to manage projects, supervise junior associates, and support training initiatives.
  • Balance and manage your own workload while proactively handling conflicting priorities.
  • Build trusted relationships with US client service teams and serve as their key contact.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects by managing expectations, identifying risks, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of actuarial tools, processes, and cost-efficient solutions.
  • Provide quality checks, audits, and feedback to analysts, ensuring the highest client delivery standards.
  • Mentor junior associates, offering technical guidance and professional development support.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong actuarial expertise in pension valuations and actuarial modeling.
  • Experience with funding valuations, expense valuations, and government filings.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for effective client and team collaboration.
  • Proven ability to check, review, and guide analyst work.

Qualifications

  • Full-time graduate with at least 3 actuarial papers (CT exams).
  • 3–5 CT papers with 4+ years of actuarial pension experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in actuarial pension valuation work, preferably with large corporate defined benefit plans.
