Key Responsibilities

Workday Payroll Implementation

  • Lead Workday US Payroll implementation projects as a Core Payroll or Specialization Module consultant.
  • Conduct tenant builds using workbooks, administer PAAS environments, deploy, support bug fixes, and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand business requirements and align Workday standard methodologies.
  • Provide domain expertise on key business process decisions for payroll, HCM, and benefits.

Client Engagement & Leadership

  • Conduct working sessions with clients to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
  • Lead design sessions and workshops, implementing best practices and workarounds for non-compliance scenarios.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for client interactions, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Data Conversion & Configuration

  • Manage data migration using Workday tools like Migration Recipe, Advance Loader, iLoads, and EIBs.
  • Configure pay components, pay groups, run categories, and pay accumulations in Workday.
  • Support absence plans, benefit plans, time tracking, and compensation plan setups.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Hands-on experience in Workday HCM and Payroll with US Payroll knowledge.
  • Strong expertise in tenant builds, functional configuration, and data migration.
  • Ability to lead multi-phase Workday implementation projects from design to deployment.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to facilitate workshops and guide best practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of bank setups and country-specific payroll deductions/earnings.
  • Exposure to other Workday modules: Absence, Benefits, Compensation, and Time Tracking.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar project tracking tools is a plus.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • BE/BTech/MTech/MBA/MCA from an accredited college/university.

Certifications:

  • Workday HCM Core and Workday Payroll certifications are mandatory.

Professional Experience:

  • 7–9 years in IT, with minimum 4 years implementing or supporting Workday Payroll.
  • Completed at least 3 end-to-end Workday implementations as a Core Payroll or Specialization Module consultant.
