Key Responsibilities
As a Release Manager – Software Engineering at Halliburton, you will:
- Manage the end-to-end release lifecycle for complex cloud-based applications.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and product delivery teams to package, test, and deploy builds.
- Ensure secure application releases with automated security checks and compliance validation.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and integrate tools for continuous delivery and deployment.
- Handle release documentation, version control, change management, and rollback strategies.
- Deploy applications using containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code.
- Support cross-functional teams with troubleshooting, build optimizations, and infrastructure reliability.
Required Skills & Technical Expertise
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in release management or software development.
Technical Skillset
- Cloud Technologies: Strong knowledge of AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, Security Groups, Workspaces), Azure.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
- Automation Tools: Terraform, Ansible for infrastructure management.
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (deployment and orchestration).
- Security & Identity: Understanding of SAML, OpenID Connect, Active Directory.
- Operating Systems: Proficiency in Linux system administration.
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with telemetry tools such as New Relic, Splunk, or Dynatrace.
Preferred Certifications (Bonus)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
