About the Role

As a SOX Senior in EY’s Consulting Enterprise Risk Team, you will work directly with clients to strengthen their process compliance and risk management frameworks. You’ll gain exposure across internal audit, SOX 404 testing, third-party risk management, process reviews, and enterprise risk management — all while working with global clients and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Execution

• Independently manage and deliver SOX engagements across client processes.
• Conduct process walkthroughs, prepare process flows, narratives, and risk & control matrices.
• Identify control gaps and recommend improvements aligned with industry best practices.
• Execute and review testing for design and operating effectiveness of controls.
• Document testing workpapers per EY’s quality standards.
• Support managers with SOX scoping, control rationalization, and standardization.
• Manage multiple assignments and ensure timely delivery within quality guidelines.

Client Management

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders and onshore teams.
• Communicate proactively with clients and team members.

Market Leadership

• Support business development and innovation initiatives.
• Contribute to thought leadership in areas of internal control and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate on developing automation tools and analytics-based solutions.

Operational Excellence

• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in client engagements.
• Manage engagement budgets and ensure adherence to EY’s quality and risk procedures.

People Development

• Mentor and coach junior team members to meet performance and career growth goals.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and technical workshops.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, learning, and innovation.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Strong understanding of SOX and COSO frameworks.
• Excellent communication (spoken and written English).

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year (for CAs) or 3 years (for others) in a Big 4 or professional firm.
  • Hands-on experience with SOX/internal controls and risk assessment.
• Preferred Certifications: CIA or equivalent.
• Mobility: Globally mobile and open to travel for client engagements.
