Summary
QatarEnergy LNG is seeking a Process Engineer (RLTO & Refining) in Ras Laffan, Qatar, to provide daily process engineering support for LNG and refining operations. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance, while contributing to process optimization, troubleshooting, and long-term engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in oil and gas process engineering, plant surveillance, process safety, and reliability studies.
This position offers the opportunity to work with one of the world’s premier LNG producers and play a critical role in supporting RLTO (Ras Laffan Terminal Operations) and Refining assets for QatarEnergy LNG.

Key Responsibilities
As a Process Engineer (RLTO & Refining) at QatarEnergy LNG, you will be responsible for:
- Daily Process Engineering Support
- Provide surveillance support for LNG and refining operations to ensure safe, reliable, and optimal production.
- Prepare and issue surveillance reports, troubleshoot issues, and escalate deviations in a timely manner.
- Asset Performance & Reliability
- Monitor system and process efficiencies to enhance overall plant performance.
- Deliver advanced engineering solutions in compliance with operational procedures and manuals.
- Process Safety & Risk Management
- Participate in HAZOPs, HAZIDs, FRAs, RCFAs, and other process safety assessments.
- Support process-related activities during shutdown planning and execution.
- Engineering Studies & Projects
- Contribute to EMOCs, AIR, and other process engineering studies.
- Support preliminary design analysis for project queries.
- Provide data input for annual business planning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Engage in regular operations meetings (daily, ALT, SHE committees) to provide process engineering expertise.
- Communicate key issues to the Process Engineering Lead for alignment and support.
- On-Call Support
- Participate in engineering call-out rosters to address after-hours operational requests.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in an oil and gas environment.
- Strong background in process engineering for LNG, refining, and related facilities.
- Knowledge of plant surveillance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements.
- Familiarity with HAZOP, HAZID, RCFA, and safety risk assessments.
- Ability to support shutdown activities and contribute to engineering studies/projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Process, Chemical, or related discipline).
