Key Responsibilities
Planning & Cost Management
- Lead a team of planners and cost controllers on midstream and downstream hydrocarbon projects.
- Develop and manage project schedules, cost plans, and quantity tracking throughout the lifecycle.
- Guide preparation and updates of the Project Execution Plan (PEP), including WBS, CBS, and reporting protocols.
Progress Tracking & Risk Mitigation
- Monitor project progress, generate early warning signals for delays or cost overruns, and propose corrective strategies.
- Identify risks related to timing and cost and coordinate mitigation efforts with the Project Manager.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Interface with Project Managers, Finance, and functional leaders to prepare budgets and forecast costs accurately.
- Ensure alignment of planning and controlling processes across proposal, execution, and commissioning stages.
Reporting & Project Controls
- Present timely and accurate project cost and schedule updates to management and clients.
- Support rollout and maintenance of project control systems (e.g., 3DEXPERIENCE, ERP) and train stakeholders.
- Assist with change management, risk reporting, and cost control plans, including forex and commodity hedging where applicable.
Required Skills & Technical Competencies
- Hands-on planning experience in large-scale EPC projects, ideally offshore hydrocarbon.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent planning tools.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, CAPEX, and cost drivers in EPC contexts.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar systems for cost tracking and reporting is beneficial.
- Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: BE/BTech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering; postgraduate degree in Construction Management or Financial Management is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in EPC projects, with at least 3 years in a planning or cost control role.
