Key Responsibilities
- Identify stress-critical piping lines from P&ID and line lists.
- Review piping layouts and routing for stress and flexibility compliance.
- Perform static and dynamic flexibility analysis for critical piping systems during preliminary and detailed design phases.
- Conduct analysis for sustained loads, thermal expansion, wind, seismic, relief, and water hammer cases.
- Execute pipe stress analysis for equipment including compressors, centrifugal pumps, exchangers, columns, heaters, and tanks.
- Provide pipe load data to civil and structural teams.
- Address high nozzle loads and resolve secondary stress issues.
- Select spring hangers, struts, and pipe supports.
- Prepare and review expansion joint specifications.
- Review and approve piping isometrics for flexibility and support requirements.
- Document all stress analysis reports and support design calculations.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in piping stress analysis.
- Strong understanding of international design standards (ASME, IS, BS, DIN, WRC, N318, N392).
- Experience in piping support design, expansion bellows, and surge analysis.
- Proficiency in reviewing vendor drawings, designs, and technical data.
- Strong coordination skills for working with suppliers, vendors, and site teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication abilities.
Preferred Expertise
- Experience working in EPC projects or oil & gas / petrochemical industries.
- Exposure to stress analysis software (such as CAESAR II or equivalent).
- Knowledge of site issue resolution and flexibility analysis best practices.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead project deliverables.
