Key Responsibilities
- Prepare technical specifications for piping specialities and valves and release material requisitions (MRs).
- Conduct technical bid evaluation for piping specialities and valves in line with customer specifications.
- Approve vendor drawings and calculations to ensure technical compliance.
- Manage vendor drawings, documents, and related technical documentation.
- Review and prepare material take-offs and cost estimates.
- Apply expertise in steam and water applications, including valves, expansion joints, steam traps, sight flow glasses, strainers, restricted orifices, and flexible hoses.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Hands-on experience in technical bid evaluation and vendor drawing approvals.
- Strong knowledge of material selection for steam and water applications.
- Understanding of various piping specialities and valves used in industrial projects.
- Familiarity with ASME, ASME BPVC, ASTM, and IBR codes and standards.
- Ability to perform material take-offs, cost estimation, and documentation management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office tools.
- Basic understanding of power plant supercritical boiler systems.
Qualifications
- B.Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of experience in piping and valve engineering for industrial or power plant projects.
- Exposure to technical specification preparation, vendor coordination, and ASME/ASTM compliance.
