Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Manual and Automated Software Test Engineers focused on upstream Oil & Gas software quality.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies covering functional, integration, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Collaborate closely with developers, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of QA processes with business and product goals.
  • Manage defect tracking, ensuring prompt resolution and detailed reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement through test automation initiatives and enhancement of test frameworks.
  • Support secure software architecture reviews and mitigation of security vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to release planning by estimating testing and documentation efforts.
  • Analyze customer feedback and previous release data to recommend product and process improvements.

Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, Geo-science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant quality assurance or software testing experience within upstream Oil & Gas software environments.
  • Solid understanding of drilling, well construction, fluid management, and completions workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and ALM tools such as Azure DevOps/TFS or JIRA.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level Certification.
  • Experience with EDT Suite applications.
  • Familiarity with engineering software like WellCat, WellPlan, and Compass.
  • Knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficient in various software testing methodologies: Smoke, Functional, Integration, Performance, Regression, and UAT.
  • Skilled in defect management and quality metrics reporting.
  • Experience with test automation design and implementation.
  • Comfortable with security testing practices and secure code review support.
  • Working knowledge of upstream Oil & Gas domain software applications.
