Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your main duties will include:
- Designing mechanical components and assemblies from concept to production launch
- Creating accurate 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and BOMs using NX or SolidWorks
- Conducting prototyping, functional testing, and design validation
- Performing tolerance stack-up analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and other engineering calculations
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams: electrical, software, industrial design, and manufacturing
- Selecting suitable materials, evaluating manufacturing methods, and considering cost implications
- Participating in design reviews, DFMEA, and risk assessments
- Supporting vendor communication and contract manufacturer coordination to maintain design intent
- Maintaining engineering documentation according to change control and regulatory standards
- Contributing to continuous improvement and intellectual property (IP) generation
Required Skills & Tools
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design engineering
- Strong proficiency in NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent 3D CAD tools
- Experience with tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and engineering simulations
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, material properties, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Familiarity with engineering documentation standards and change management processes
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech)
- Certifications in CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks) are a plus
