Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical BIM Engineer / Modeller (PHE) at Mott MacDonald, you will be responsible for:
- Leading planning, design, and modelling of PHE/Fire Fighting (FF) building services elements.
- Developing concept designs in coordination with architectural and structural teams, following industry standards and load estimations.
- Conducting design calculations using international standards such as IPC, UPC, IOP, SBC, CIBSE, BS, and Middle East regulations (DM, DEWA).
- Ensuring design quality compliance with company QA/QC procedures and delivering accurate outputs on schedule.
- Coordinating seamlessly with other MEP disciplines (HVAC, Electrical, ELV).
- Supporting digital automation for PHE/FF design using Dynamo scripting or Python programming (advantageous).
- Leading and mentoring design engineers, modelers, and CAD technicians to meet project deliverables.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical / Civil / Environmental / Public Health Engineering.
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Public Health Engineering design and BIM Modelling.
- Strong exposure to high-rise buildings, shopping malls, hotels, metro stations, airports, and healthcare projects.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Bentley Open Building Designer (OBD V8i), Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bentley Navigator.
- Ability to handle internal and external water supply, sewerage, stormwater, and drainage systems.
- Experience in checking design calculations, reviewing drawings, and maintaining documentation accuracy.
- Knowledge of local authority codes and international regulations, including Middle East or UK standards (experience in AUS/NZ preferred).
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices, green building standards, and decarbonization strategies (preferred).
Soft Skills
- Strong oral and written communication for client and cross-functional coordination.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage deliverables, and meet tight deadlines.
- Enthusiasm for digital transformation and continuous improvement within BIM environments.
