Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert marine pilotage services for all vessel types at QatarEnergy-operated ports.
- Navigate approach channels, conduct harbor maneuvers, and manage offshore Single Point Mooring (SPM) operations.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime conventions such as SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, and local port regulations.
- Manage port cargo operations with adherence to port rules, policies, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with QatarEnergy teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and safe port logistics.
- Plan and execute maritime operations independently, ensuring target delivery under high-pressure situations.
- Lead and innovate within the maritime pilot team to improve operational safety and efficiency.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of sea-going experience as an officer of the watch.
- At least 5 years of experience on large vessels (VLCC, Capesize) in the capacity of Chief Officer or Master.
- Alternatively, 5 yearsβ experience as Chief Officer or Master plus 5 years as a Marine Pilot on various vessel types.
- In-depth knowledge of international, national, and local maritime laws and port operation regulations.
- Expertise in port cargo management and occupational health and safety in port environments.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with proficiency in English (QatarEnergy English Level L5).
- Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively under pressure and within teams.
Educational Qualifications
- Master Mariner (FG) Class I certification is required.
