Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end enterprise data migration from Sybase to Oracle platforms for finance transformation programs.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with IT leads and business sponsors.
- Develop and manage detailed migration plans ensuring minimal disruption and data integrity.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including internal IT, infrastructure, and external vendors.
- Oversee data mapping, transformation, validation, and comprehensive testing processes.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security policies, and regulatory standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate migration risks including data loss, downtime, and performance issues.
- Manage QA/UAT protocols and change management processes.
- Support audit readiness and maintain thorough documentation.
- Facilitate governance forums and communicate project progress and risks to executive leadership.
- Drive post-migration optimization to enhance data usability and performance.
- Mentor technical teams and lead knowledge transfer and change management initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- 8+ years of professional experience in data migration project management, preferably managing enterprise-level finance transformation projects.
- Strong technical expertise with relational databases, data structures, SQL, and ETL tools.
- Deep understanding of data modelling, migration best practices, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate multiple vendors.
- Experience with cloud-based database platforms is advantageous.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to BFSI or Life Sciences industries.
- Familiarity with Oracle DMS or Sybase environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with data reconciliation and validation frameworks.
- Capability to lead geographically distributed teams effectively.
