Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant / Oracle Project Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage end-to-end enterprise data migration from Sybase to Oracle databases.
- Define clear project scope, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed migration plans, ensuring business continuity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and the internal PMO.
- Oversee data mapping, transformation, validation, and performance testing.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security policies, and regulatory standards.
- Identify and manage risks including downtime, data loss, and performance issues.
- Implement QA/UAT protocols and change management practices.
- Communicate project status, risks, and decisions to executive leadership.
- Drive post-migration validation and performance optimization.
- Mentor junior team members and support knowledge transfer initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data migration, project management, or finance transformation.
- Expertise in Oracle databases, relational database structures, and SQL.
- Proficiency in ETL tools, data modeling, and performance tuning.
- Experience in managing full SDLC using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methods.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Industry exposure in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance (BFSI) or Life Sciences.
- Familiarity with Oracle DMS, Sybase, or other legacy database systems.
- Hands-on experience with data reconciliation and validation frameworks.
- Ability to lead distributed teams across multiple geographies.
