Key Responsibilities
SOC Operations Management
- Lead 24/7 SOC operations for multiple clients, ensuring continuous threat monitoring and incident response
- Manage a team of Tier 1–3 SOC analysts, incident responders, and engineers
- Ensure SLAs are met, including response times, reporting, and incident resolution
- Oversee shift management and staffing for optimal operational performance
Incident Detection & Response
- Supervise detection, investigation, and resolution of security incidents
- Ensure appropriate escalation and post-incident reviews
- Refine SOC workflows and incident response playbooks to improve threat handling
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as primary contact for client accounts, providing SOC updates, metrics, and threat insights
- Conduct client meetings to discuss security posture and SOC performance
- Address client concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Service Delivery & Process Optimization
- Continuously optimize SOC processes, workflows, and tools
- Implement automation and orchestration (SOAR) for efficient incident handling
- Maintain and fine-tune SOC detection systems including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR
- Conduct proactive threat hunting and improve detection accuracy
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor SOC analysts and engineers, enhancing technical and operational capabilities
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and foster a collaborative culture
- Ensure team members are cross-trained on SOC tools and security technologies
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure SOC operations adhere to industry standards and client-specific security requirements (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, GDPR)
- Provide regular reports demonstrating SOC performance, incident handling, and threat trends
- Manage audits and internal/external assessments
Threat Intelligence & Continuous Improvement
- Integrate threat intelligence into SOC workflows and detection use cases
- Lead development of new alerts, use cases, and detection logic to address emerging threats
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize SOC technology and capabilities
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, with 3+ years in SOC management
- Experience in MSSP or managing security operations for multiple clients
- Strong knowledge of security tools: SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS
- Expertise in incident response and threat intelligence
- Proven leadership in a 24/7 SOC environment
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and team management skills
- Education: Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s in Cybersecurity or Business Management preferred
Certifications (Preferred)
- CISSP, CISM, GIAC (GCIH, GCIA, GSOC), CEH, CompTIA Security+
